🌍 About the Memoir

Finding Home: From Cairo to New York, award-winning memoir, celebrates the strength of the human spirit and the courage it takes to shape one’s own destiny.

One woman’s unique, life-changing journey across four continents:

"We each have a path to follow at our own pace and time.

I hope reading about my journey inspires you with your own."

Djenane Nakhle, PhD

Growing up in a traditional patriarchal society and coming of age under a politically autocratic regime in Egypt, Djenane Nakhle recounts her search for identity and self-realization in Finding Home: From Cairo to New York.

With grit and unwavering determination, she navigates the chaos of a tumultuous marriage, motherhood, love, and divorce—always pressing forward with an “I can do it” spirit.

This deeply personal memoir is a powerful testament to resilience and transformation. It speaks to every woman who has fought to define herself and be heard.

Through loss, joy, pain, and purpose, Djenane charts a path toward higher education and inner purpose—proving that, regardless of circumstances, courage and clarity can lead us home.
